Set up the Zebra Printer
Turn on the Zebra printer and connect the printer to your computer using the provided USB cord. Open Printers & Scanners on your Windows machine. The printer should be auto-detected within your Printers & Scanners. Rename the printer as desired.

- With the printer powered up, hold down the feed button.
- Wait until you see the "four flash" sequence from the status light (the printer will first flash once, then twice, then three times, then four times).
- After the four-flash, release the feed button.

Calibrate ZP450 / ZP500 / ZP505 model thermal printer
- Load the printer with the labels for your application.
- Power on the printer.
- Press and hold the Feed Button until it flashes two times then release it.
- Allow the printer to complete feeding labels and printing a sensor profile.
- The printer should now be calibrated.
This could be a mechanical fault with the machine, part of the machine has become loose or some labels have become stuck underneath the print head. The problem is likely to get worse with time so try to prevent any further printing. We may be able to help you remotely over the phone if it is something straight forward.
What does resetting a Zebra printer do? ›
Resetting Printer's Configuration:
While turning on the printer, press and hold the PAUSE + FEED buttons. Keep holding until only the status indicator is lit. This resets the printer configuration to factory defaults without printing any labels.

- Plug the A/C power cord into an appropriate power outlet.
Your printer should have been packaged with a USB cable regardless of whether it is a wireless or wired printer. Plug the cable into your printer and your computer's USB port. The direct linking should trigger your computer to recognize the printer and start up the software needed to complete the installation.
